Author's concept of arch. Iveta Popova for a modern interior on the ground floor in a residential complex in Sofia reveals a refined taste for materials selection, stylish and functional lighting design, and wide space cherish.
The apartment has two separate rooms - a bedroom with a private bathroom and a cabinet, and a combined living room - all on a total area of 120 sq.m. The extra wide and open living room invites for big family gatherings and a friendly atmosphere with its 3-meters high ceilings. On one hand it is open to the kitchen and the well-defined entrance hall, and on the other hand - it easily fuses with the outside space through large sliding windows. This way the porch and the small yard turn into a natural extension of the home. Apart from direct access to the green garden, the relation with nature is also highlighted by the strong presence of the wood - both in the wall cladding and the oak parquet, as well as in the MDF panels at different places in the interior.
Noble materials have a generous contribution to the overall style. These are the marble - incorporated as part of the wall cladding and mostly as a flooring in the largest part of the apartment; and various metal surfaces such as decorative elements and furnishings - with copper, gold or matte finishes.
Modern fixed lighting as well as adjustable lighting design could be found in each room. Its functionality is recognized best in the cabinet where a focus of the light is needed mostly.
