Bevis Marks is a commercial office building located in The City of London in the immediate neighbourhood of 30 St. Mary's Axe tower (The Gherkin), and the 230m high Heron Tower. Amid the high rise buildings of the City, the development benefits from impressive views south towards the River Thames and Tower Bridge, North East towards Spitalfields and West towards the City's centre.

The focus of the scheme was the proposed roof gardens on the eleventh, fifteenth and sixteenth floors. The linear design on the terraces reflects the strong vertical form of the glass stripes on the building facade. The pattern extends further onto the terrace though raised planter edges and paving bands which create a strong continuous link between the architecture and landscape. The way this has been interpreted varies subtly as you move up the building roof levels, which adds interest and character to the detail.
