Montanema is a Handmade village hotel located in the area of the Plastira Lake near to the city of Karditsa in the central Greece. The main concept was to design separated 16 two floor houses for rent. These houses are placed in a sloping hillside inside of a thick forest. The word Montanema comes from the two words Montagna witch means mountain in italian and anema witch means soul ,so the Montanema actually is meaning “the soul of the mountain” .
The hotel is about 16 individual stone made houses placed around 2 central bigger buildings.
These 2 central buildigs have each one an individual use. The first one located in the higher side of the hotel , near to the entrance of the hotel, in front of an outdoor swimming pool contains the Lobby, the Restaurant witch is actually and the breakfast area and the café of the hotel. In the basement of the first central building the spa area and the gym are designed . The second central building contains 6 suites and a conference room.
The 16 individual buildings are placed around these two central buildings according the landscape. 10 of the 16 buildings are two level houses to let with individual entrance. 4 of them are one floor houses and 2 of the houses are a two floor with an internal staircase.
The project was to design a Provence style to the interior of the houses, each one with a different style. All the furniture and the lights are made of handmade materials .
