Boss Coffee is a boutique coffee house located in the suburbs of Scottsdale, Arizona. The goal for Davis-Ink was to create a warm and inviting environment for people to truly experience the smells, sounds and process of brewing and food preparation. The design focused heavily custom product display and direct interaction with the back of house and kitchen.

We wanted the space to be positive, motivating and inspirational. A special environment for locals and a destination point for people outside the community. We created warmth by layering the space with organic and earthy elements. We focused on product by using straight forward and utilitarian elements. This was accomplished by taking simple materials such as rope, plumbing pipe and refurbished wood planks and reconfiguring them in new and creative ways. The resulting design was a very cool mix of contemporary and traditional. Hard materials such as concrete and steel where softened when combined with reclaimed wood and plant material. In addition, we wanted the space to be layered with “quirky” and almost childlike artwork. Therefore all graphics and art were done in either black or white and were printed as silhouettes with basic letter fonts.

Some of the main features include, custom graphic chandeliers, custom rope lighting, floor to ceiling planter wall, a 20ft. wide floor to ceiling product display and Roosevelt tufted black leather settee booths.
