In uno dei primi briefing con i committenti, ho appuntato una frase che mi sono ritrovata a sottolineare più volte durante la progettazione degli spazi del locale commerciale Sneakers Room, a Monopoli: “Ci saranno anche scarpe da collezione”. 

Sapevo che l’area espositiva adatta per questi pezzi unici sarebbe stata il piano interrato, uno spazio che avrebbe coniugato il Concept di Restricted Access, per la parte di stoccaggio e magazzino, a quello delle Limited Edition, che sono custodite in teche di vetro dall’aspetto museale. 

Tutti questi Input progettuali si sono sposati con la principale intenzione di design dedicata al pianterreno, con gli ampi spazi verticali e calpestabili. Un’idea che riprende i caratteri delle chiese barocche, in un senso di sacralità ironizzata dai colori e dalle forme.

Al piano terreno un filare di archi in lamiera forata separa in navate lo showroom, con la parete attrezzata per l’esposizione delle sneakers da un lato, e dall’altro le appenderie dalle finiture dorate. Un limbo aureo, quello della scalinata che conduce al MVSEUM, un’esposizione non-convenzionale che pone in antitesi la fredda gabbia in lamiera elettrosaldata alla viva natura che ne cinge i confini.

During the firsts briefing with the clients, I wrote down a phrase that I found myself underlining several times when i started designing Sneakers Room’s commercial space in Monopoli: "There will also be collector's shoes".

I knew that  the basement would be the ideal display area for these unique pieces, a space that would combine the Restricted Access Concept, for storage and warehouse, with that of the Limited Editions, which are kept in museum-grade look glass cases.

All these inputs were combined with the main design intention dedicated to the ground floor, with large vertical and walkable spaces. An idea that incorporates the Baroque churches characters, in a sense of ironized holiness by colors and shapes.

On the ground floor, a row of arches in perforated metal separates the showroom into aisles, on the right side we have the display wall equipped for the sneakers, and on the other, the hangers with golden finishes. A golden limbo, the one of the staircase leading to the MVSEUM, an unconventional exhibition that puts the cold electro-welded cage in antithesis to the living nature that surrounds its borders.
