Permanent public space installation from the series of work Intersections.
The installation functions as a meeting spot, play sculpture and a playful bench in the urban landscape.
As each module slides into the other, like two combs, form and colour meet and interweave. Together the shapes create a sculptural installation or furniture. This flexible work inspires interaction and invites people to use the objects in a variety of ways. Everything is up to the imagination of the user.
The installation is made out of powder coated stainless steel.
Intersections have been inspired by modernist architecture and its playful geometry. They are a result of a study of forms and volumes, and of a search for the right balance between geometric simplicity and complexity. The outcome is a system of geometric modules which enables creating inspiring and flexible spatial compositions.
