The project Exhibition Hall, situated in the mid of the ten-li beautiful Golden Beach in Yantai, is north to the Yellow Sea and back to windbreaks with advantageous outer resources. Originally, it was a waste land for an unfinished building project in unearthing and depredation, and taken back later by the Government for construction of the Exhibition Hall.

The Exhibition Hall will be not only a space to exhibit the blueprint of Yantai City, but also present an attitude itself and the possible future of the coastal city, as well as the visions experienced directly. The start point for the entire design derives from cherishing and respect to unique land conditions. It makes an attempt for common development and symbiotic relationship of urban architectures and nature, protect and develop natural resources, and restore hangovers from the past. In the end, it can make the City’s single coastal environment thriving.

With restoration, trimming and transformation of the beach, the landscape architecture will neutralize the boundary of the building and nature, integrating artificial environment with nature. Buildings, ups and downs on the site, will create a continuous space from inside to outside, lead people to access in from seaside, highways, forests and trestles outlaws, crossing and visiting three functional areas: Model Display Area of Development Zone Blueprint, Display Area of Cultures and Office Area. The shell, reflecting sunshine, air and seascapes, can make the Hall full of lights and shadows, and connecting between and sea and sky. The special shows and cultural release and communication space indoors extend to building outside, rooftop and beach, melted with exhibitions, leisure and fitness movement outdoors. The special blueprint show will not be stiff lecturing any more, but quietly infiltrated into the leisurely life, and becomes an important part of the urban life.

The Hall will be constructed with both basic materials–local sand and shell left by people. Both are from the land and back to the land, so that the Hall can be blending in the physical environment, and becomes an extension of the local primitive Shell Knoll Civilization in the modern times.

项目位于烟台市优美的十里金沙滩中段，北面直接与黄海相接，背靠防风林，外部资源优越。场地内部原为荒废烂尾项目用地，残留挖掘破坏痕迹，现被政府收回，用于规划展览馆建设。

规划展览馆不只是展示城市规划模型的容器，建筑自身就展示着一种态度，展示这个海滨城市未来的可能性，和能被直接体验的愿景。整个设计的出发点源于对独特用地条件的珍惜与尊重，尝试城市建筑与自然的共同发展与共生关系，保护和发展自然资源，修复遗留伤痕，并给原来单一的滨海环境带来活力。通过对沙滩的修复、整理、变形，一体化的景观建筑处理化解了建筑与自然的边界，自然连续性得以保持的同时，与人工环境交融一体。

场地建筑的起伏，营造出内外交互的连续空间，引导人们从海边、公路、绿林、栈桥等各个方向进入，穿行游历于三个主要的功能区域：开发区规划模型展示区、文化展示区与办公区。贝壳对阳光、空气、海景的过滤，使得展示厅中光影弥漫，海面水天相接。室内的专业展示、文化发布交流空间，向建筑内外、屋顶、海滩延伸，与室外的展示、休闲、健康运动融合。专业规划展示不再是生硬灌输，在休闲互动中悄然渗透，成为城市生活的重要组成。

建筑以当地的沙与人们吃剩的贝壳为基本材料，它们来源于这片土地并回归这片土地，使建筑更快融入所在物理环境，并成为当地远古贝丘文明在当代的延伸。
