"The football screen" is the unique art object by Citizenstudio, which encompasses the kinetic sculpture and interactive installation dedicated to the FIFA World Cup in Russia.
This art object was installed in Moscow Gorky Park, on the bank of Moscow river for the duration of the tournament.
The Solar System, the orbits on which planets and satellites move, became an inspiration for an object. The FIFA World Cup - an event of planetary scale.
The sculpture itself is the round object with a diameter of 7 meters with the multimedia LED-screen on one side and mirrored-surface on the other side. The screen broadcasts video and a photo content, as well as the photos of citizens from social networks using a special hashtag. The screen consists of 18 rings resembles orbits of planets. Every 12 minutes these rings starts to move around its axis, unfolding the disk and turning interactive screen into a kinetic sculpture of irregular shape. During this action each of those rings continues to work independently as a media screen. With each movement a simple plain form becomes more and more complexed and further transformed into asymmetrical light installation. The rear side covered with the polished metal becomes the shining object in the sun. This is a big "Mirror of the City" in which the sky, architecture, the park and citizens is reflected. Two conditions of an object - opened and closed — create two absolutely different visual images. Process of the movement of orbits and transformation of a flat disk into an irregular flickering shape — unexpected and bright action.
