Shenyang New World Centre is located at the boundary between the old districts and the new Hunnan District, and faces the famous Hunhe River, the main river of Shenyang that carries with it rich legendary histories of the Qing Empire, the last imperial dynasty in China history.

The programme and design concept of the project is to hold the functions of the development which encompass from residence, works exhibitions, shopping, leisure, shopping and entertainment under one roof with controlled environments as a strategy against half a year of extremely cold weather in Shenyang. The project is anticipated as one of the most complex projects in China’s recent history, as architect has integrated colossal world-class functions under one roof, offering “one-stop service” for the daily necessities of the local community.

Forming a miniature city within the larger Shenyang city, the design plan therefore aims to enhance the cityscape and create a highly adaptive mega structure and a visually pleasing landmark for the city and the resident’s environment.

It is the icon of the modern face of Shenyang distinctly different from the traditional heavy industrial outlook of the old Shenyang city. Conveniently connected to the Metro network of Shenyang and at the side the new busiest commercial road ‘Qingnian S. st’, its enjoys great accessibilities.

The project faces the new Hunnan District across the old Hunhe River, is also at the gateway from Shenyang Airport to the Shenyang city area. Symbolizing the transition of the city from the old days to the modern era, the project is an internationally iconic landmark presenting a new face of Shenyang to the world.
