The site of the project is surrounded by a large number of residential areas with strong atmosphere of everyday life. On the consideration of small-scale and high-density spatial characteristics of Luohu distinct . In this circumstance, we hope the building will growing along the vertical direction and release more square space to the citizens, and the two volumes of this project is digested and combined together with a multi-level hanging garden which can provide diversified functional spaces and event venues. This strategy is inspired by the unique spatial pattern of Luohu District, which is half landscape and half city. Through the construction of physical intentions, the dialogue between architecture and nature is generated.
We categorize the functions of library and youth activity center, and divid them vertically with similar function categories. The library and youth activity center are independent in the vertical direction and connected horizontally. In order to make them complement each other, we adopt an orderly mixing method to make the building a container for various behaviors. Due to the rich educational resources of this area, our building will also serve as a social expansion of school education in the future. We chose the TOD strategy of transportation, connect the bus and slow-moving systems on the ground, and set up a public functional space underground to seamlessly connect with the subway.
