骑楼下，马路边，公园外，有一个悬浮于空间边界之内的盒子，安静温暖地嵌入城市之中。

Under the arcade, by the roadside, outside the park, there is a box suspended within the spatial boundaries, quietly and warmly embedded in the city.

项目位于深圳后海中心河公园一侧，是一个在马路边藏于骑楼之下的沿街商铺。空间的内凹使得阳光几乎无法到达场地边界之内，而骑楼之下的阴暗与压抑和外侧明亮与自然的街道产生了极大的反差，从而减少了人想要走近商铺的可能性。我希望通过设计把公园、马路、人行横道、建筑、骑楼视为一种并列的空间关系，把公园与街道的自然引入建筑之下，把商铺的能量和温暖扩散到街道之外，人会因为自然来到这里，也会因为温暖停留于此。

The project is located beside the Houhai Central River Park in Shenzhen, hidden under the arcade along the roadside. The recessed space means that sunlight barely reaches the boundaries of the site, creating a stark contrast between the dark, oppressive space beneath the arcade and the bright, natural street outside. This contrast reduces the likelihood of people wanting to approach the shop. Through design, I aim to treat the park, road, pedestrian walkway, building, and arcade as parallel spatial relationships. By introducing the natural elements of the park and street under the building, I hope to extend the shop’s energy and warmth beyond the street, drawing people in with nature and encouraging them to stay because of the warmth.

于城市尺度而言，我嵌入了一个悬浮于边界之内的发光玻璃盒子，它柔和的光线照亮骑楼，温暖地辐射到街道之上，让人从不同的角度都能看到这团柔和的发光体，使其成为这一段城市界面中的视觉与感官的节点，走近这个盒子，通透的玻璃立面与空间结构不仅反射了街道与公园的景色，也映衬了内部咖啡师工作的场景，室内外形成了人与自然相互渗透的空间关系。

At the urban scale, I have embedded a glowing glass box within the boundary, its soft light illuminating the arcade and warmly radiating onto the street. This glowing entity can be seen from various angles, making it a visual and sensory node in this section of the urban interface. Approaching the box, the transparent glass facade and spatial structure not only reflect the street and park scenery but also highlight the activities of the baristas inside, creating a space where people and nature permeate each other.

于商铺尺度而言，作为咖啡店，不希望墨守陈规，用传统的“橱窗”+“入口”的关系去塑造自我形象，更希望表达自身作为咖啡店的开放性，与人，街道，城市，自然共生的态度。结合外立面原始轮廓的宽窄变化，在沿街立面做了逐级退让，使得入口形成了三个不同进退关系的折断。

At the shop scale, as a café, we do not want to adhere to the conventional “window” + “entrance” relationship to shape our image. Instead, we wish to express our openness as a café and our symbiotic relationship with people, the street, the city, and nature. By integrating the original contours of the facade with varying widths, the street-facing facade is designed with successive setbacks, creating three different staggered entrance relationships.

第一重折断对应原始建筑边界极窄进深的“橱窗”空间，设置了一块隔板和整面的玻璃推拉门，完全打开的时候，化解了自身“橱窗”的限制，借用了骑楼下街道的宽度，使其成为一个由室内拓展到室外的开放空间，人群可以站在这里，闲谈与品尝咖啡。推拉门完全关上的时候，它又可以成为品牌展示窗口。

The first setback corresponds to the narrow depth of the original building boundary, creating a “showcase” space with a partition and a full-length sliding glass door. When fully opened, it eliminates the limitations of the “showcase,” borrowing the width of the street under the arcade to become an open space extending from indoors to outdoors. People can stand here, chat, and enjoy their coffee. When the sliding door is completely closed, it serves as a display window for the brand.

第二重折断位于立面的正中心，作为咖啡店的主入口，视线贯穿到底，连续且干净。

The second setback is at the center of the facade, serving as the main entrance to the café, offering an unobstructed and clean visual path straight through.

第三重折断利用了这段截面室内空间的大进深，边界退让最多，创造了一个属于咖啡店的室外区域，形成了人与街道相接的开放式公共空间，不仅联通了室内外，也模糊了公共与私人空间之间的界限，表达了咖啡店品牌的开放性与和城市共生的态度。

The third setback utilizes the significant depth of the interior space in this section, retreating the most at the boundary to create an outdoor area for the café. This forms an open public space that connects people with the street, blurring the lines between public and private spaces. It not only connects the interior and exterior but also expresses the café’s brand openness and its symbiotic relationship with the city.

三重折断关系从空间借用到退让，不仅表现了对原始边界的尊重，也结合城市尺度给出了咖啡店该如何融入周边的新的解决方案。

These three levels of setbacks, from borrowing space to retreating, not only show respect for the original boundaries but also provide a new solution for how the café can integrate with its urban surroundings.

室内空间延续立面折断线的逻辑，在有限的面积之下划分出分享区，操作区，后勤区，手冲咖啡区，半封闭隔间，客座区，并且把顾客购买与品尝，再到品牌分享咖啡理念的需求作为空间中的主要区域。抬高这个区域，让折断的玻璃立面延伸进入室内，成为这个区域的主要围合方式，从而形成了一个多折断线构成的玻璃盒子，贯穿“嵌入”城市这个主要理念，让这个盒子六面均脱离原始建筑边界，“悬浮”在场地之中。

The interior space follows the logic of the facade’s setback lines, dividing the limited area into distinct zones: a sharing area, an operational area, a support area, a pour-over coffee area, a semi-enclosed compartment, and a seating area. These zones prioritize the customer’s journey from purchasing and tasting coffee to engaging with the brand’s coffee philosophy. Elevating this section allows the fractured glass facade to extend into the interior, forming a multi-faceted glass box. This design embodies the primary concept of “embedding” into the city, with the glass box detaching from the original building boundaries and “suspending” within the site.

次级标高区域为操作区，手冲咖啡区，与半封闭隔间，操作区由三个吧台组成，收银与展示，手冲咖啡，意式咖啡。三个吧台面向不同方向与承载了诸多设备，其中手冲咖啡吧台设置了座位与背景隔断，顾客可以在这里观看整个手冲咖啡的出品，聆听咖啡师的冲煮理念以及品尝最后的成果，整个长条形手冲吧台与隔墙构建的长向空间保证了一定的空间独立性，而这个隔墙同时划分出了一个三人的半围合区域，给予这个小咖啡厅更多的私密性空间。

The secondary level consists of the operational area, pour-over coffee area, and semi-enclosed compartment. The operational area comprises three counters dedicated to different functions: cashier and display, pour-over coffee, and espresso coffee. Each counter faces different directions and hosts various equipment. The pour-over coffee counter is equipped with seating and a backdrop, allowing customers to watch the coffee-making process, listen to the baristas’ brewing philosophy, and savor the final product. The elongated shape of the pour-over counter and the partition wall create a longitudinal space that ensures a degree of privacy, while the partition wall also defines a semi-enclosed area for three people, adding more intimate spaces to the small café.

照明分为两个部份，盒子区域的磁吸轨道灯与贯穿的条形灯，非盒子区域的双层发光膜。

Lighting is divided into two parts: the magnetic track lights and linear lights in the glass box area, and the dual-layer luminous film in the non-glass box area.

玻璃，黑色石头，木头，金属成为空间的主要材料，大面玻璃可以反射人与周边自然的关系，黑色石头与木头用于划分空间区域，金色的不锈钢是协调玻璃，石头，木头的收口材料，让空间细节更精致。

Glass, black stone, wood, and metal are the primary materials used in the space. Large glass surfaces reflect the relationship between people and the surrounding nature. Black stone and wood define the spatial zones, while gold-toned stainless steel serves as a finishing material that harmonizes the glass, stone, and wood, adding refined details to the space.
