When Lixil embarked on designing its new U.S. headquarters with Gensler, the residential consumer goods company sought to create a workplace that would enhance brand engagement by showcasing its products front and center. Lixil’s “comforts of home”-focused workplace acts as a showroom for its array of iconic home and kitchen brands GROHE, DXV, and American Standard. Working through the pandemic, Gensler delivered on this goal by designing a workplace that enables creativity, innovation, and flexibility, while embodying Lixil’s culture of “good living.” The headquarters’ central hub is a focal point, offering immersive product displays, flexible gathering spaces, and a spacious cafe flooded with natural light from the architectural lightwell in the center of the building. Lixil’s products are also prominently featured in the completely touchless restroom created in partnership with Dormakaba. Lixil’s headquarters creates a residential-driven, branded workplace that invites employees to experience new products firsthand and in turn, act as brand ambassadors.
