Some time ago, the idea arose to renovate an existing building on the James Wattstraat in Leeuwarden to give it a more up-to-date appearance.
ArcelorMittal Construction
To preserve the building for the future, to keep it exploitable and comfortable, energy-saving measures were necessary. A great deal of insulation, for example. All the single glazing was replaced by the glass with the highest insulating effect: triple glazing. And all walls were packed with a 140mm thick layer of PIR insulation.
The building was provided with a completely modified facade construction with various custom-made Cassettes BS in weather-resistant steel, material type Indaten.
ArcelorMittal Construction
The horizontal and vertical lines of the windows had to be followed. As a result, a total of more than 25 different cassettes had to be produced (various sizes in both length and width).
These cassettes are made of weather-resistant steel, type Indaten, which is protected by the patina layer that forms after various weather conditions of moisture and sun.
ArcelorMittal Construction
The whole is finished with connecting flashings from the same Indaten material.
System: Cassette BS
Material: Indaten - weather resistant steel
