A design by Gensler drawn from the railroad and lumber industry known to the area, the Marriott CityPlace Hotel at Springwoods Village serves as a premier option for those traveling to Spring, Texas.
Springwoods Village is leading the growth of Spring, TX into the twenty-first century at CityPlace, the front door to the new Exxon-Mobile campus, offering a variety of uses for residents to live, work and play in one place.
Located on the western end of CityPlace in Spring, TX, the 11-story, 339-key hotel includes a restaurant, bar, ballrooms, meeting spaces, fitness center, outdoor terraces and an adjacent 3-story pre-cast parking garage. The design team’s inspiration rooted in the railroad and lumber industry in Spring, Texas is shown with metal detailing throughout the building. The hotel is located in a pedestrian friendly environment that incorporates nature, and Gensler has brought the same idea to the inside of the hotel.
The project is designed to achieve USGBC’s LEED Silver protocol, placing special emphasis on building envelope design and mechanical systems performance.
The building massing allows for primary views to the north and south, away from Interstate 45, which also provides for minimized western exposure to heat gain. Additionally, the pool deck is located in such a way as to receive sun throughout the spring, summer and fall.
The mechanical systems for the guestrooms have an enhanced locking system, which allows for the entry hardware to speak directly to the mechanical systems. This allows the building to understand room occupancy and adjust the mechanical system accordingly in order to save on cooling loads.
