这座万华集团的新建筑，将作为其位于上海的研发中心，同时兼具企业产品展示以及海外市场拓展窗口的功能作用。设计方案旨在建造一座集团的标志性建筑，其中包含员工的办公空间、供来访专家居住的服务公寓、会议设施及其它配套空间，如仓库、接待处、广场和地下停车场。

Wanhua’s new building in Shanghai is a research and development centre for visiting international experts. The brief was to develop a showcase building that also incorporates office space for staff, service apartments for visiting experts, conference facilities and a range of auxiliary spaces such as warehouse, reception, plaza and underground car park. 

项目坐落于上海浦东，在市中心以及陆家嘴金融区的南侧。项目地块凭借上海发达的高架路网和轨道交通与市中心各区域联通，同时也衔接通往虹桥和浦东两大机场的高速通路。

The project is located in Shanghai, Pudong, south of the city centre and the financial district LuJiaZui. It is connected to these areas via the extensive Shanghai elevated highway network. These roads also form direct connections to the city's two airports, Pudong and HongQiao. 

建筑灵动的设计外观是一大亮点，其灵感来源于自然界中的有机生物体。建筑的六个组成体块错落蜿蜒、彼此呼应，与周边环境共同形成了有机和谐的建筑形态。整体建筑将裙楼打通，联结各个功能体块，围绕景致优美的中庭广场。

The scheme’s dynamic shape derives inspiration from organisms found in nature. The six sections ofthe building have an organic form and interact with each other and their environment in a sinuous manner. They are interconnected at podium level andare arranged around a landscaped plaza. 

其次，建筑的设计方案在建材选用方面也展现出了万华对于研发领域作出的创新，在此基础上，设计师最大限度使用预制材料，以加大施工效率。

The brief for the building requires reflecting the innovative research and development work which happens within Wanhua. Materials have been chosen to enable maximum amount of prefabrication and therefore efficiency. 

同时，外立面主要由铝制框架构成，同时为了控制预算，工程将通过预制幕墙或者利用原位安装的窗户/玻璃，来有效降低成本。

The façades consist of powder coated aluminium light shelves. In order to minimize cost, great carehas been taken to ensure that all glazed areas can be constructed either as prefabricated curtain wall or as in-situ mounted windows and in-situ mounted panels. 

此外，对于建筑周边的外部空间，设计重点在于补充和提升所在区域的城市人文脉络。一系列可供休憩、娱乐和沉思的空间，将为在此工作生活的人们提供更愉快和健康的生活方式。

The surrounding external space is designed to complement and boost its urban context. There are spaces to rest, play and contemplate, promoting a sense of wellbeing and healthy lifestyle for its users.
