situated on the shores of hudoy, a norwegian island in the skagerrak strait, international architecture and design studio snohetta has reconstructed a boat house intended for local youth groups. the structure serves as both overnight accommodation, housing an assortment of colorful sleeping bays, and a social arena, encouraging interaction and engagement between its occupants.the gabled cabin is constructed from timber and clad in vertical slats that offer inhabitants glimpses of activity across the water. internally, a mezzanine level provides additional floor space, while the provision of seating positioned at the entrance to the scheme provides an external area for both recreation and contemplation.
