Inspired by a mixed culture that is influenced by Malaysian fish villages, vivid colours and unique geometry forms have been used as the central theme for Jim’s Malaysia, Miranda. The front courtyard is transformed into the dining area, allowing patrons to sit comfortably as they enjoy their meal.
Resembling Malaysia’s “village house” concept, daily used fishing tools such as fishing nets and crates, traditional timber claddings and lattice screens are used in the interior. Watercolour menu graphics showcasing authentic Malaysian cuisine brings together patrons’ love for food creating a unique dining experience. Traditional household items that are found in fishing villages are displayed as props decorating the store and with Jim’s Malaysia signage as the bulkhead.
The hanging fishing nets are the main lighting feature of Jim’s Malaysia as it gives depth and life to the overall space. With this feature, it creates an environment where patrons can immerse themselves in the Malay daily-living household.
