莫干山景区的桑蚕孵化场的改造一定程度上反映了企业资金从城市流向城镇的现象。桑蚕孵化场是一块荒地，为实现城乡互动计划，开发商意在重新开发这片荒地，将之变为商业区域，振兴经济。周围地区的建筑也将修茸一新，以最新的面貌迎接景区的游客。

为了重新整置外部空间，将以前凌乱的房屋建筑群变成有序的开放市场，设计师们最初计划在这里建一些竹制的房屋供居民暂时居住，这样有利于实施更长远的计划。这些房屋所用的竹子均来源于当地，并采取有效的传统筑房技巧。当前所做的所有措施都为以后的商业计划奠定了基础。

The renovation of Mogan Mountain silkworm hatchery partly reflects the extension of private capital to towns and villages. The site was a deserted silkworm hatchery. To achieve urban-rural interaction, the developer wants to reuse this abandoned site, reviving the space by turning it into a commercial area. The surrounding buildings are expected to be renovated step by step.

As an initiating strategy, the designer decided to build a series of ‘Bamboo Shelters’ to integrate the scattered outer spaces, turning these formerly random and negative areas into open markets, which could be served as the starting points for the further development. These Shelters were built by locally produced bamboo, adopting simple yet effective traditional building techniques. The temporary strategies applied here are deeply rooted in the commercial developing agendas.
