Thunish Design Apartments, the new Lago Welcome in South Tyrol, is a pearl set in the historic center of Gudon, a small and picturesque town in the municipality of Chiusa, in the Valle d’Isarco. The guesthouse is part of an agricultural structure consisting of the house, a large garden and the barn inside.
An ancient and precious farm, which has been the subject of a careful restructuring thanks to the will of Daniel Vikoler, a young local entrepreneur, and of the Raum3-Architekten architecture firm. The objective of the project was to bring to light the beauty of an ancient local structure, enhancing it thanks to a modern and elegant design managed by the Lago Point Loft21.
The house, which is under the tutelage of the fine arts institute, is today subdivided into several suites and apartments fully furnished with Lago Design. The aim of the interior project was to enhance and revive the structure’s history and tradition through the use of contemporary design furniture and materials, creating functional and bright spaces. The building offers wonderful views of the Alps of the Isarco Valley, in a relaxing and special setting.
The furnishings were chosen trying to create a strong contrast with the existing structure. Suspension and color characterize all areas of the home, from the living room to the bedrooms, up to the bathrooms. Air bookcases and sofas elegantly and lightly furnish the living areas, completed with lacquered and glass Air Tables that reflect light and brighten up the rooms. In the rooms, the Air and Fluttua beds blend perfectly into the spaces, while in the bathrooms the oak wood of the Depth Wildwood washbasin takes up the characteristic wood of the beams and the Stube.
