Designed by Glas Architects, the new residential complex on Southwark Bridge Road in south-east London stands out with it’s sleek, clean compartmentalized look punctuated by bold dashes of color.
A multi-panel facade (MPF) system by Hunter Douglas was specified. The system controls rain penetration, maintains ventilation and provides thermal insulation. Almost 5,000 separate anodized aluminium rainscreen panels were installed.
Numerous non-standard sizes of the silver-grey panels were specified, giving the development a random look. The single-skin was also cranked around the window reveals, resulting in a seamless flow of the panel into the window jam, avoiding the need for flashings and providing a clean look.
