a|911 developed the Executive Master Plan for Transportation, including the improvement of public spaces and the architectural design of the stations. Transportation is one of the most relevant issues in the Nezahualcóyotl area, partly due to the high population concentration, mobility needs, and largely due to the deficiency in road infrastructure and mass public transportation. The Neza-Chimalhuacán Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) will impact approximately 2 million people, providing a more efficient, fast, and comfortable transportation system. At the request of the Transconsult consultancy, a|911 is designing the stations, cycle paths, and public spaces to serve one of the poorest areas of the city.
One of the main objectives of the project is to offer an efficient and rapid mass public transportation system, like the Mass Transit Collective System, that is interconnected with other systems such as the metro. The project includes the development of 32 elevated platform stations with a cycle path that will run along the 18km of the project, starting at the Pantitlán terminal (metro and bus station) and ending in the center of Chimalhuacán.
