Porter Architects revitalized the Austral Hotel to give it a fresh feeling within the existing charm of the building using traditional materials and textures.
A historic old regional Victorian pub located in Otway area of Colac.
The redevelopment proposes additions and alterations the existing old local gem. The main southern section of the existing hotel where the bar and dining is located is revitalised into a comfortable contemporary food and beverage experience. It captures and embraces the old pub with it’s existing textures of woods, bricks and glass and adds to the experience by opening the pub to daylight/ improved circulation, new joinery and textures.
