Charlie Greene Studio designed a neutral and bright space for the Berger Schatz offices in Chicago, Illinois.
The design process for Berger Schatz’s new office began with strategically defining how the office will operate in a post-pandemic world. A focus on bringing visitors into the office resulted in an expanded conference center with warm, welcoming finishes and expansive views of Chicago’s skyline and Lake Michigan beyond. The need to build and expand workplace culture after two years of remote work resulted in an enlarged café with access to the best views. A hybrid working arrangement for attorneys resulted in universal sized offices with identical furniture and limited storage. The increased importance of technology resulted in seamless integration of video conferencing tools in each attorney office as well as each conference room. All of these functional aspects are rendered in a residentially inspired Scandinavian aesthetic that is simultaneously sleek and warm.
