S. Tipton Studio completed the design for the Wind Energy Transmission of Texas offices, a statewide program to deliver clean and renewable energy, located in Austin, Texas.
Wind energy development company WETT uses transmission line to bring wind energy from West Texas to urban areas of the state where renewable energy demand is growing. For their new office space, we created a design aesthetic that reflected their brand.
Through the use of creative acoustic materials, geometric themes and graphic solutions we sought to create a connection to the transmission towers that are the foundation of their mission. With a need for departmental zones, we divided the space into sections that supported both open workstation areas and private informal meeting areas.
The materials chosen for the project were designed to create a relaxed but sophisticated atmosphere. Open concrete ceilings and bold cross-bracing are balanced with warm wood tones to create a dynamic working environment. Strong graphic statements helped to distinguish various areas of the space while paying homage to the vital work WETT does in the renewable energy sector.
