Nacozari de García is a mining community of 12,000 inhabitants in the state of Sonora. It lacks of public and recreational spaces. The project’s intent is to design a central plaza for public use that is self sustained, providing the economical and maintenance support that a plaza requires.

广场被构思为一个露台式的冥想空间。其四周环绕着白色的混凝土矮墙，界定出线性的布局以及内部的空间元素。

The plaza is conceived as a patio-like space for reflection and as a center for contemplation. It is contained by low walls made of white concrete that frame the lineal disposition of the elements that make up its interior.

其中的一座矮墙被设计为一道瀑布，将流水输送至地面上的水槽。这些水槽构成了广场的轴线，瘦高的白蜡树沿着这些轴线排布，为广场的中心带来荫蔽。广场的后方设有一处核心服务区，包含了商业空间、运动场和凉廊。整个广场在发挥日常功能的同时还能够进行自我维护。

One of the walls functions as a waterfall – a fountain that cascades onto the canals that mark the axes where a series of ash trees rise to provide shade in the center of the plaza. At the rear the service core is found that includes a commercial space, a playground and a pergola. The proposed program allows the plaza to its daily function and own maintenance.

广场所在的转角位置为当地居民提供了交叉的路径，同时与城市中的街道形成连接。广场中使用的材料结合了不同的工艺，石墙与凉廊的金属结构均由当地厂商制造。

The corner location provides alternate passages to the local people, connecting one street with the central plaza of the town. The materials used, for the Nacozari Square, combine different craftsmanship, using local manufacturers to construct the stone walls as well as the metal structures for the pergola.
