ELLE DECORATION
The clients, a married couple, prior to moving lived in a larger apartment in a historic building, so in this project they did not want to lose the level of comfort they were used to.
We immediately found a common language and understanding in which direction we were heading, and as a result we managed to take into account everything necessary.
According to the original plan, the apartment had two rooms, a spacious hall, small dressing room and bathroom. The goal was to combine the kitchen and living room, organize a private bedroom area, as well as create a comfortable and spacious dressing room and bathroom with a laundry room. We wanted to transfer the spirit of a historic house to a new space, so that it looked organic and appropriate within the modern architecture.
An oak door custom made according to our sketches leads to the kitchen-dining area. Elements of the Art Nouveau style are present in its smooth lines. The kitchen island, combined with the dining table, is accentuated by hanging lamps handmade by the local Glassburg company.
The interior of the bedroom refers to the Roman Pantheon. The wall behind the headboard is decorated with flutes, which are repeated in the furniture decor, and a large round lamp on the ceiling imitates a dome skylight.
The shower room is finished with natural travertine, a material that was used in the construction of many historical buildings in St. Petersburg. On the walls we have preserved the stone structure with open cavities, a rough surface that has undergone special treatment.
