Deaf Rehabilitation Center: TranquiL
When people think of hearing loss, they simply think of deaf people. However, the general mass does not understand that hearing can be lost quickly or slowly at any age for any reason. According to the World Health Organization, more than 700 million people are estimated to have disabling hearing loss by 2050. A survey was being conducted with progressive hearing loss individuals. It is discovered that the majority of them seems to agree that their negative emotions increase along with the worsening of their hearing loss.
Hence, Tranquil the DEAF rehabilitation center was designed. It is separated in three parts total, each aiming to help combat and raise awareness for the issue above. The first is to introduce the visitors to the world of issues that deaf people experience, as well as the technologies they use to help assist them in their lives. The second part is designed to help the people with guidance if they are facing hearing loss issues in their lives, or know someone who faces such issues, and this guidance is offered in hopes that they will be able to cope better with their circumstances. The last part is designed to help the user to prepare for their future, featuring classes for sign language, as well as lip-reading to help aid them in their upcoming daily lives.
