Svelgen accent lighting is created to enhance the refinery of Elkem Smelteverk. The buildings are created as there yeas passed by and that has created many different surfaces to work with. To make best use of the façade surfaces we wash them with colored light. It was really hard to make sure the light didn’t hit any of the other surfaces. The refinery is in complete darkness at night so the colored light really stands out.To make it interesting over a long period of time there are many different scenarios that change on a daily basis. Every scenario lights up a different surface with a different color. The colors are determined by a color concept that uses the complimentary colors. That way there will always be two surfaces with complimentary colors to each other.
