The site is in Evora, a fortified city in the UNESCO, called «city-museum». A high part of the population is student (18%). The university of Evora is split up in all the city into the historical buildings. The project consists to link the diferents universities and to dynamise this network. The unoccupied places will become student housing, bar, or other cultural and leisure places. The way permits a new centrality for the research (in agronomy for the campus development) on a boulevard sequence. It is the configuration of urban clips that will link the high part of the program to the low part. The learning center is located like a convergence point in the campus. It permits to mix students, researchers and public. By this program, it is the affirmation of a new identity : the campus city, focused on the agronomy research.
The learning center is the architectural piece inside the new pole. It is the urban link between the boulevard, Evora University and the historic city center. The learning center is an independant building, able to give a new breath for the campus. This new building should embody not only the excellence of the school and grant him international fame but also improve the image of the library on the campus.
