Located in the Las Letras neighborhood, Madrid, a space is created that combines the minimalist and simple style of the studio with the eclectic and sustainable air that its clients were looking for.
The project consists of creating a space that respects the existing original elements of the premises and being able to combine them with contemporary and simple materials to achieve flexibility in the space capable of adapting to seasonal changes and the menu offered by its owners.
The stainless steel bar counter interacts with the pre-existing Corinthian style column located in the center of the premises, so that it does not touch it, but rather copies its curved shape and borders it to maintain its prominence as an indirect organizer of the spaces. Added to this set of elements is a third, which is the flow lamp, custom designed also copying the path of the bar, so that it harmonizes the lighting over the workspace and becomes another distinctive element on its own.
The palette of neutral tones that predominates in the space allows for visual homogeneity and conveys calm when enjoying a specialty coffee. We worked with various materials and their treatments in ranges of off white and black. The stainless steel bar counter in contrast with the burnt wood tables, and the English green veneer tables together with neutral upholstery and the natural wood chairs, provide warmth, refine the space and subtly harmonize all the elements.
