In the years 2007 and 2008 the old-established traditional Swiss tourist brand Kuoni under- went a complete relaunch. Due to their rela- tively radical commitment to a highly modern brand image it was necessary to reconceive the Kuoni travel stores in the major cities of the world. The design used for these flagship stores set an international benchmark in the travel sales business.
With over 100 years of corporate tradition Ku- oni is a worldwide synonym for high-quality travelling. The Swiss travel agent with its nu- merous branch office is present throughout the whole of Europe and, as one of the largest corporations on the international travel mar- ket, has set new benchmarks with its thorough brand relaunch.
Some incisive situations await the customer at Kuoni in Barcelona. The reception counter was made of old overseas suitcases, a leather cover and special brass fittings. A further individual detail which structures the room is a Torii. The artefact derives from Japan where it originally served as an entrance gate to a Shinto. In the store it leads to the inspirational area which features Kelims, antique tables and visitor armchairs. Square tables were designed for advisory purposes which make it easy to plan a journey together with the customer across a corner. The venue in Barcelona is quite unique with its sub level which can be used as a cosy event location with 35 lounge seats.
