TAPIS ROUGE was invited into the project at an early stage of design elaboration.
The project is a one-bedroom apartment in Tribeca. It has been created in a year for a young man engaged in the financial and cinema sector. He was looking for an interior concept reflecting his professional and artistic tastes. The apartment is very much open - to the natural light, to the city life panorama and to contemporary design trends. The floor-to-ceiling glass window walls and the terrace offer generous views of the Hudson Canal, as well as iconic NYC skyline views.
For the living room, where the Owner and his guests enjoy the perspective of the city sitting on the rounded sofa, there was chosen a relief rug Composition XIV.II. Its unusual geometric pattern, high mossy forms with light shades create the needed combination of volumes as if answering to the changing relief of the city.

The wall of the bedroom is decorated with a bespoke art piece, created by Italian artisans specially for that project from Carrara marble, mahogany and oak. The irregular form of the art object comes from the design of a fine rug Composition XXII, which creates both voluminous and warm impression.
The rug was long-listed for the Archiproducts Design Award 2020.
It has conquered the designers' hearts with its play of multicolor hues, natural silk and wool textures handcrafted knot by knot by Nepalese traditional craftsmen.
On the floor there is another rug – Composition XVII from the Abstraction collection, performed in cold palette of violet and blues blended with silk threads.
