Youth Cultural Center
Located in Kiev, the youth cultural center is the recent work of Ukrainian architect, Taras Tashko, mostly known by his conceptual approaches in various cities around the world. The building is created by walkway with two layers so that the users can walk on and through the building. As the site steps downward toward the river, the architect provided a dual course of steps in order to end the circulation near Dnipro River.

The construction consist of metal flat panels with thickness of 15 mm coated the facade of the building. To make the panels double-curved, they’re framed by a steel meshes attached to them. And as an underlay a series of 10 mm glass pane heated and made bendable in order to smooth the form of the building. Each of these panels-both the steel and the glass- are different from each other.

The building designed to become a part of the site; therefore, it has an organic and topographic form which grows of the ground, moves above the highway, and goes down toward the river: a natural communication between interior and exterior.
