RD-2 is a residential project that was completed in June 2020.
The owner himself is an explorer and a deep lover of souvenirs connecting him with good memories and travel experience. Thus was important to provide a design complimenting his passion for exhibiting trophies and special objects. On the other hand, he is a very open and down-to-earth person and was essential the design to reflect upon his character by incorporating a natural aspect within the interior through the materials like marble, stone, leather, wool, silk.
The design successfully reveals its initial idea of creating a museum-like place and at the same time provides the needed comfort of the home living inviting for relaxation. The sleek and mirror surfaces are enlarging the open and shared room optically and are corresponding to the concept of an exhibition space. The presence of natural materials like marble, stone, wood, leather is dominant. The wall coverings add up cosy feeling in all rooms. Lighting design holds a pinch of scenographic aesthetics and gives the power of transforming each space in the inhabitants’ hands via magnetic modular system.
Extremely stylish, the interior combines not just at one place the shades of brown and gray - both through the combination of leather and textiles, as well as wood and granite mosaic-like tiles. White is a strong counterpoint that brings in light and freshness, turquoise and rose-gold colors are accents keeping the visual concept aligned.
White marble takes central spot as a wall covering in the bedroom and living room, as if it naturally replaced a work of art. The design of the two bathrooms evokes a male rigor and exquisite taste, and that of the cabinet for a gentle and noble character.
