Maternity fashion boutique by Sergey Makhno Architects
Type/Project: Showroom
Location: Kyiv
Area: 100 sq m
Client: MonaMoon, a fashion maternity clothing brand
Objective: Interior in the spirit of MonaMoon’s clothing – comfortable, progressive, without binding to a certain style
MonaMoon is our 3-week-old's child. We had the strict limit of time. Before coming to us, MonaMoon tried to work with other designers, but their vision of an interior didn’t match the brand. Space should resonate with a general brand philosophy and reflect its ideas.Sergey Makhno, a founder of the design studio.
Continuing the concept of clothing, the interior was based on “feelings of comfort”. It’s minimalistic but not dry, reminiscent of a cream cake due to the decorative finishing on the lower part of the walls. Pleasant deep violet and pale pink tones reflect the brand identity.
The boutique has 4 zones. They become one because of simple geometrical shapes dividing the space without obstructing views.
The main zone includes a reception and a place for shopping. We decorated it with our ceramic lamps – white “Umbrellas” over the reception area and giant “Mak” in the center of the room.
A small kitchen is hidden and resembles a “secret room”. It’s decorated with a trio of designer lamps. They’re made of copper and show red textured landscapes like on Mars.
