Imperatori Design has completed the New York gallery-inspired office design for lighting manufacturer, EDP, located in Montreal, Canada.
As a lighting manufacturer, EDP is an indispensable resource for any designer of Montréal spaces. By moving into the burgeoning MileEx neighbourhood, EDP wanted to be more accessible to the design community while attracting young talents to its team. Inspired by New York galleries, the designers sought to exploit the raw industrial nature of the space and at the same time opt for an intentional minimalist design to make space for the lighting pieces. The space inspires creativity where design and technology meet. As the work environment itself was an exhibition space, EDP was not interested in a conventional showroom. However, an event space with an integrated wine bar encourages better collaboration among all team members. Whether in the company of colleagues or contributors, the atmosphere for conferences and cocktail hours is even more enjoyable. The vision’s clarity and the judicious use of lighting, evoking a staging where each element is highlighted in a unique manner, contributed to this fabulous fusion of office and showroom.
