Liquidspace Studio was given the opportunity to design the Richi Interiors HAY experience center located in Hyderabad, India.
Minimal, functional and rich on textures; that’s HAY furniture. We got the opportunity to design the first experience centre for this Denmark based furniture company in the city of Hyderabad, India. The furniture itself became the inspiration for the design language. Our love for simple functional design is the backbone of this brand. This resulted in much muted interiors, with pastel tone on wall paint, and grey subdued carpet by Milliken created a subtle canvas for each piece of furniture as an art in itself. The dynamic track lights which could be modified to focus on any furniture enables fluid furniture layout. The warm living room feel was achieved with use of lighting, it also helped in highlighting the details, colours and finesse of the every piece on display.
The experience centre being on the busy street, introduction to acoustic rafters became need of the space. Birchwood for the window framing was inspired by the light wood pallet used in many of the Danish designs. The only pop up colour is the customised metal display unit for the newly launched products. Different room setups were created for visitors to imagine and experience their space through our design without actual physical barrier. The space is not overly populated with furniture rather a walkthrough giving you space to step back, get a look and feel of what one can expect from the brand.
The end product is a beautiful chemistry between the store interior and the products showcased.
