FXCollaborative Architects was tasked with the design for a confidential public service company’s office located in New York City, New York.
For a New York City agency, a new headquarters space was created to reflect the city’s vibrancy and goals of humanism, dynamism, and responsiveness. The new interiors transform two floors in Lower Manhattan into an energetic workplace environment that features a strong use of color, texture, and graphics.
The strategic workplace presents a high level of professionalism with a range of public-facing spaces, including a large open pantry and conference center; secure work areas, including workstations, executive offices, and phone rooms; and unique breakout collaboration areas at each corner of each floor. The two floors are connected by a feature communicating stair of glass, metal, and stone. Glass corners and perforated screens offer transparency and permutation to allow for knowledge sharing in innovative formats. The headquarters presents an informal spirit that conforms to the way teams prefer to work, propels individuals to act as catalysts for the greater good, and react to the department’s variety of user groups and shifting needs.
The city’s vibrancy is on display in an innovative workplace environment that prioritizes transparency and collaboration.
