In one of the most historical and suggestive places of Altamura, Puglia, in the south of Italy there is the renovation of the ancient "bar del duomo". According to the old activity as a cafè it was decided to operate with a new interpretation of typical furnishings and colors. Few elements to define the room: one big "madia" which is, in Italian tradition, a buffet, used in this case as a bar counter; tables with chairs and a small sitting room near the entrance, all illuminated by puntual wall lamps. The long bar counter is characterized by many showcases, realized with the typical "vetrocattedrale", an old glass used for the realization of the cathedral's windows. There were used these following materials: a particulas stone called "breccia" as a top, an oak for the furnishings, a granulated marble for walls and roof, and a varnish for the basement. What about the floor, ancient people used to change sections of ruined floor with an other different from the previous one, so to recreate this custom it was used a floor with many sections of different colors.
