Between Time // An elaborate showcase of luxurious fine furnishings, modern and antique design, art and decoration, curated by Gisbert Pöppler and vintage furniture dealer, Erik Hofstetter.

Providing exclusive exposure to a hand-picked selection of artists, vintage design pieces and home furnishing producers, Pöppler & Hofstetter transformed the grand showroom of Berlin’s elusive Wallstr. Here design treasures from many eras were brought together across space and time, amid the gorgeously decayed splendour of a 19th century architectural ruin. Dirty Chic Interiors. Love!

Design To Be Savoured // A delightful banquet of re-purposed elements blend their distinct flavors, creating surprising harmony in this eclectic kitchen that was designed to be savoured.

Pöppler deftly blends unexpected ingredients including Mezzaluna lights from Bruno Gecchelin, an antique farmhouse wardrobe reinvented as china cabinet, custom made brass kitchen fixtures, travertine marble display table and dressing-room doors both sourced from the now defunct German department store Sellbach. Linking all these disparate notes, is a sea-toned colour story told in dark emerald marble counter tops, watery blue ceiling and arsenic toned cabinets.

Heart of the Home // The creation of a comfortable heart for this family home in Berlin’s Chalottenburg saw the rearranging of the existing layout – designing and installing a custom kitchen and transforming the surrounding apartment; including a new colour language from room to room.

The custom kitchen satisfies the requirements of modern day family living; as well as combining the functionality needed for the liveliest part of the home with a pleasant and beautiful environment to live in. Combining a – at times unconventional – range of materials; such as wire glass with brass, introduced an element of understated luxury that translated through the colour range; from bolder hues beside softer shades.

Showcase Retreat // Collaborating with his client, a furniture dealer with a deep knowledge of design, Pöppler deftly made strategic structural changes that transformed this tiny pied-à-terre into a showcase for the client’s ever-growing cabinet of curiosities.

A kitchen wall was removed to increase light and flow. Sumptuous earthy Farrow & Ball wall emulsions were applied in hand-brushed matte and smooth high gloss, both defining and unifying the different spaces. To further refine the space, Pöppler added custom decorative details including a new moulding on the ceiling and antique hardware elements for the doors, windows and cabinets.
