The Mir is the very place that our small city has lacked so much. The idea to create such space was born out of a feeling of the shortage of places where you can work, socialize with creative people, learn something new and just relax. We wanted to create a real Third Place.
The concept of a Third Place was first outlined by the American sociologist Oldenburg. According to Oldenburg,
The first place is a house - the place where a person lives.
The second place is work, where people actually spend most of their time.
The third place is the urban space, which is not connected with either 1 or 2, a place where people relax, communicate and interact, it plays an important role in the development of the city.
At the moment, the Mir is a cafe, a bar, a ping pong club, a shop, a platform for cultural events, a garden and a mini-hotel. The Mir should become a place where people of art and media, designers, artists, musicians, entrepreneurs, local citizens and visiting guests meet.
The Mir encourages and fosters the creative interaction between people. The Mir is a Place of Power.
