In the historical center of Avilés, near the Oscar Niemeyer Cultural Center, it is proposed the integral reform of a house of 123m2, consisting of three small bedrooms, two bathrooms, a toilet, a dimly lit kitchen with natural light and a spacious living room but with an obvious difficulty of furnishing, connected with a small terrace with pleasant views over a park full of vegetation.
The proposal is born from the basic idea of "central box" as a nucleus of articulation, favoring the elimination of the corridor. Covered in wood, it houses a pantry and a bathroom, which is naturally illuminated by a glass on the top of it. In turn, it articulates the entrance, living room and kitchen, functionally separated through glass doors. In this way, we get a great natural illumination coming from the living room. Independently we can see the night area, consisting of 3 bedrooms, where the main room acquires singularity, composed of dressing room, bathroom and study area, communicated with the living room, favoring in this way the sequence of spaces. A dialogue has been established between the architecture and the design of the furniture, acquiring protagonism and functionality, combining the wood and the white, giving great luminosity to the house.
