Category:Private Houses
The project is located inside a historic building called Villa Monfort on the Turin hill. The project responded to the customer’s wishes of an open living space interconnected with the others spaces of the house. The interior honeycomb polycarbonate panels filter and transmit the light creating a unique, slightly magical atmosphere (they also divide the main areas while hiding the technology systems). Everything stands in architectural harmony: the living area consists of a large open space featuring the fireplace-sculpture, made of natural black iron, which is the centrepiece of the house. Around the fireplace openly dialogue the kitchen, the salon and a more informal space for listening and making music. The sleeping areas located on open mezzanines (though tactfully hidden from view).
Designed to be a meeting point, the monolithic kitchen in Belgian blue stone extends uninterruptedly into a large black iron table. The clever use of doors allows the side containing the built-in appliances to integrate seamlessly with the microcement walls, as well as the wall cupboards along the corridor. The main bathroom boasts a large box-shaped shower in blue Belgian stone, surrounded by the industrial flooring in walnut wood that runs through the whole house. On the long bathroom top in black Fenix stands a corian washbasin. The taps and fittings, built with exposed piping, pay tribute to industrial-style plumbing.
The cinema room is arranged in tiers featuring openable container functions. The loft features two terraces, one of which has an infinity pool accessible from the french door of the living room, designed to live and offer different experiences.
The master bedroom, which can be accessed via a black iron staircase suspended from the wooden roof beams, overlooks the living room and has a private en-suite bathroom with a shower opening onto the bedroom.
The enchanting charm of the villa, with its elegant and impressive livability, is enhanced by the ever-changing interaction that its interiors entertain with light and shade in the alternating of the day and night thanks to the filtering wall which gives it the appearance of a “magic lantern”.
