The Western Academy of Beijing has been revitalizing its various facilities, the Blue Theatre being one such part of this rejuvenation process. The name of the space – the Blue Theatre – was set, but the pre-existing interior did not refer to it. Taken from a children’s book called “The Rainbow Fish,” the epithet alludes to a story where a beautiful fish gives his scales away to other fish as a sign of friendship.
Following this parable, we at anySCALE created an array of colorful fish scales for the theatre’s inner walls. Besides this addition, our engineers gave special attention to the technical aspects of the project. In particular, the theatre's acoustics were restructured. By reintegrating the sound-absorbing and sound-reflecting materials on the walls and ceiling, the sound projection of the stage was greatly enhanced, thereby creating a much more enjoyable viewing experience for the audience.
