Designed to mimic the surrounding rock formations, Casa Katana's angular form resembles a "knife cut from a katana sword" - a Japanese sword for which the house is named. At the same time, its location below ground will help minimize its visual impact on the site and passively heat and cool its living spaces through thermal mass.
