"In the solitary cold of autumn, where the Xiang River flows northward, lies Orange Isle," speaks of the ancient Xiang River, a cradle of culture.

踏岸而居，踏岸而歌，湘江孕育了一路澎湃的人文之魂，留下了数不胜数的千古名篇；伴水而居，依水而活，三湘儿女随着历史长河的流转创造出了如今博大精深的湘菜文化。

Settling by its banks and singing its praises, the Xiang River has fostered a vibrant cultural spirit, birthing countless timeless literary works. Living with and by the water, the people of Hunan have, through the currents of history, cultivated the profound and extensive culture of Hunan cuisine.

岳麓山下，橘子洲头，湘江之滨，江水奔腾的情韵至今都荡漾在中国书法的海洋之中，岳麓书院是中国四大书院之首，自然之风与文明之风于此交融，吹往湘楚大地，吹向历史深处。

Beneath Mount Yuelu, at Orange Isle, along the banks of the Xiang River, the river’s vibrant essence ripples through the ocean of Chinese calligraphy. The Yuelu Academy, foremost among China’s four great academies, stands where the breezes of nature and civilization converge, wafting across the Hunan-Chu lands and into the depths of history.

该项目以在湘书院里品味美食，在湘美食中感受文化为设计主题，提取岳麓书院的文化内涵进行空间转译设计，意在打造具有湘楚文化的空间，在独特的文化氛围中享受湘菜美食。

This project, themed around savoring delicacies within the Yuelu Academy and experiencing culture through Hunan cuisine, extracts the cultural essence of the academy for spatial translation in design. It aims to create a space imbued with Hunan-Chu culture where one can enjoy Hunanese culinary delights amidst a unique cultural ambiance.

书院 - 诗情画意

Academy, poetic and picturesque

设计中较大的保留了古建筑中的原有梁架结构，但在光线方面我们考虑如何中和原始古建筑结构带来的肃穆感，所以我们采取了大面积的采光，运用玻璃材质代替部分的传统木质架构，以便将室外光线以及原始景观最大程度的引入室内，使空间既具有古典美感又不失温馨舒适。

In the design, the original beam frames of the ancient architecture are largely preserved. However, to mitigate the solemnity of the original structure, extensive natural lighting was introduced. Glass materials replace some traditional wooden structures, maximizing the indoor introduction of natural light and original landscapes and creating a space that is both classically beautiful and comfortably inviting.

书写，湘字百韵

Writing, the Hundred Rhymes of Xiang

设计中我们将湘字进行书法艺术化，设计出了百湘图，运用湘字的神韵进行照壁，包间等空间艺术装置的设计，神韵为上，形体次之；骨相相和，神采互发。将湘楚大地的书法文化融入空间设计中，孕育出了中国古典的朦胧之美。

In our design, the character ’Xiang’ is artistically calligraphed, culminating in the creation of the ’Hundred Xiang Map’. This character’s essence is employed in the design of screens, private rooms, and other spatial art installations, prioritizing spirit over form and harmony over structure. This infusion of Hunan-Chu calligraphic culture into space gives birth to the ethereal beauty of classical China.

书香，雍容典雅

Scholarly, elegant and graceful

朦胧的精妙之处在于寓有形于无形，寓有声于无声。散客区运用了特别定制的铜制编织高密度纱网进行功能分区，编织纱网在专业的灯光照射下呈现出特殊的金属质感，透过这样的隔断探景，自有一种雾里看花的朦胧美。

The subtlety of the ethereal lies in shaping the tangible into the intangible and the audible into silence. In the walk-in area, specially customized, high-density copper-woven mesh is used for functional zoning. Under professional lighting, the mesh exhibits a unique metallic texture, offering a glimpse of beauty akin to flowers seen through mist via such partitions.

在照明设计中我们大面积使用了局部照明，点亮了空间的文化氛围，打造了既主次分明又有层次变化，既精巧又富有节奏韵律变化之美的空间氛围。

In the lighting design, extensive use of localized lighting illuminates the cultural ambiance of the space, crafting an environment that is both hierarchically clear and subtly varied, delicately detailed yet rhythmically rich.
