Illuminated Benches
To decorate Moscow urban environment for the City Day of 2016, we developed the concept for a series of urban environment objects that utilize dynamic lighting and multimedia and interactive solutions. The series incorporated the objects that could be both decorative and suggestive of the festivities and also recreational.The comfortable, bright and memorable benches, which serve as a natural meeting place and an attractive selfie spot, became one of such objects.
We designed the sets of horizontal and vertical benches in the form of letters М, О, С, К, В, А (MOSCOW in Russian) with integrated diode RGB light sources managed by programmable DMX-controllers. We developed lighting scenarios and programs for illumination of stand-alone letters, which enabled the installation to operate in separate regimes of static illumination and dynamic light flights, and provided backup of lighting programs in case of emergency shutoff and power recovery.
