The Calif. Chicken Café’s vibrant new location is a nuanced evolution of a 5-year rebrand for the classic, uniquely SoCal rotisserie brand originally established in 1991. Linear lighting elements in marigold from ANDlight's Slab series designed by Lukas Peet punctuate the clean and minimal white volume, a whimsical take on a refined laboratory feel.
The lines of the Pipeline series accentuate a clean, white monolithic counter and an open plan kitchen that showcases the preparation of the freshest ingredients.
The open entry patio – with communal tables, teal banquettes in a proprietary plaster, and a geometric Pipeline CM9 chandelier designed by Caine Heintzman– engages street life and connects the interior to DTLA’s larger urban setting.
"The light fixtures chosen really reverberate the technical function needed in the space while being playful, colorful, and without ego."— Cara McConnell, VP of Design at CCC
