We were lucky to have clients who like the design and the small details. We were commissioned to completely renovate a duplex apartment in the south of Gran Canaria to use it both as a holiday home and for private use by themselves.
On the ground floor we leave the space completely open with the exception of a wooden box that hides a bathroom inside. This box, which seems to float, acts as a sculptural element giving warmth to the entire space. We wanted to leave the entire interior with neutral tones in which only some elements in beech wood and black steel profiles stand out.
In the beech wood staircase, the backlit railing stands out in a monolithic steel profile. This same compositional game continues in the bathrooms where the taps and profiles of the partitions are in the same tone. The flooring and tiling are large format pieces in two tones, one light and the other dark, with the same aim of not underestimating the elements in wood and black steel.
In the main room we designed a wardrobe with plain sheets, leaving in the middle some wooden voids for the TV and decoration elements.
The exterior areas were treated with artificial grass and some of the perimeters with native plants. At night the outdoor LED lighting creates an environment that invites you to enjoy the perfect climate in which it is located.
