Electronically tintable SageGlass controls sunlight to optimizes daylight, outdoor views and comfort while preventing glare, fading and overheating without the need for blinds or shades. In total, nearly 3,000 square feet of SageGlass are used around the restaurant perimeter.
Solar control was a major factor in the overall design of the space, and the restaurant needed to maintain unobstructed views from all vantage points while blocking harsh sunlight and intense heat at the same time. Together, owner Eyvazoff and Tag Front selected electrochromic SageGlass® to solve the problem. Electronically tintableSageGlass controls sunlight to optimize daylight, outdoor views and comfort while preventing glare, fading and overheating all without the need for blinds or shades. By dynamically controlling sunlight and managing heat gain, SageGlass allows unobstructed views and a comfortable dining experience at any time. 71Above features nearly 3,000 square feet of SageGlass around its perimeter. With SageGlass, 71Above staff can easily control the environment to create a consistently comfortable experience that visually connects patrons to the city below.
At 950 feet above ground level, 71Above is the highest restaurant west of the Mississippi. Offering elevated modern American cuisine by Chef Vartan Abgaryan, 71Above boasts breathtaking ocean views from Malibu to Laguna Hills, along with spectacular views of the Los Angeles basin and the surrounding mountain ranges.
In addition to the magnificent views, 71Above was designed to provide a number of varying dining experiences. Guests may choose to dine within the buzz of the bar or in our adjacent lively main dining room. The Chef’s tables offer views of the open kitchen and transition into a semi-private dining area, offering a quieter and more intimate dining environment.
